Split decking rules

When determining an intermediate position for a container that is involved in a split work instruction, XPS abides to the following Expert Decking rules. For more information on Expert Decking, see Navis N4: Yard Manual.

Description

Distance to Exit Point

Get close to where the container will depart

Distance from Start

Keep the ASC from driving too far

Job Count in Area

Shorten the job to increase the MPH

Mixed Stacking Factors

Deck to a stack with containers that do not have the same stacking factor (provides access to a stack that might otherwise not have been considered)

Planned Fetch Stacking

Deck to the stack that a container is currently planned to

Imminent Fetch Stack

Deck to the stack that a container has been dispatched to

Re-handle Stack

Deck to a stack with a top container that is likely to need rehandling

Tier Height

Stack higher rather than lower

Empty Stack

Consider the cost of consuming an empty stack in relation to a semi-full stack

Hazardous IMO

Override the Hazardous IMO rule to transit the area

Reefer Plug

Override the Reefer Plug rule to transit the area

Container Length

Consider container length
